Heritage Festival
Make a date for the first ever Belfast Hills Heritage Festival which lifts off from July 2 to 8 with a week of fun, frolics, tours and amazing events brought through the mists of time.
Not to be missed is the treasure trail and fair at Belfast Castle on Saturday July 7 which promises to be a fun-filled day out for all the family. Take part in a treasure trail solving clues with the help of real-life historical figures from the Belfast Hills. Traditional games will be played while a stunning falconry display will take place. Why not dress up in an era of your choice?
Get onboard a 1930s bus for a tour of the old townlands in the Belfast Hills, hound out a story at gothic Clotworthy House or learn about World War II plane crashes on Carnmoney and Cave Hill. Go potty for pottery, get buzzing with butterflies on the old farmstead of Slievenacloy or learn about the Black Bull of Colin Glen.
You can even take a group of friends and relax in retro style and take in a wartime night at the movies on a barge on Belfast’s Lagan River.
