Ara Shoes Launches Exciting Range of Ladies’ Footwear For Spring/Summer

For the 2017 spring/summer season, ara, one of Ireland’s leading shoe brands, has launched an eye catching and exciting range of ladies’ footwear which is guaranteed to appeal to ara’s style and comfort conscious customers.

Sporty and casual might well be the slogan for spring and summer. Sporting influences are reflected in both casual and business outfits for the new season and this is reflected in ara’s sneakers which are true all-rounders, giving informal summer outfits and stylish eveningwear a casual touch. Classic sneakers, trainer-style and high-tops are the focus of the new ara women’s collection, representing its primary model group.

White is again an important trend colour but the new collection also exhibits a lot of silver and rose gold as well, including a very clean combination of the two. Metallics, snake versions in natural colours and multi-coloured patterns also play a major role, along with marbled paint materials. Decorative details like zippers and buckles, rhinestone images and ornaments present the shoes in a trendy light.

Without doubt, the skilled workmanship that goes into ara products ensures perfect fit. The great wearing comfort for which ara is renowned comes through in such features as the new, interior heel pad, dynamic footbed adjustment with memory foam, leather-covered removable insoles and high-quality linings of calf and goat leather.

The new ara women’s collection is designed for and will be warmly welcomed by all discerning fashion-conscious women.

The Jenny range within ara is all fun this season with a bit of ’70’s flair and ’90’s retro and once again the sporting influence is very evident. Focusing on high-tech comfort features, Jenny fans will be wearing flat jogging shoes and dandies, sandals with ankle emphasis, or – the latest thing – sneakers ranging from trainers to high-tops. The collection also includes really attractive slim summery pumps and ballerinas.

As ever, Jenny’s huge selling point is the high level of comfort, coupled with stylish young design at an affordable price.

MaxMara Brings Italian High Fashion To Belfast

One of the biggest events in Ireland’s social calendar in 2017 is set to be an exclusive fashion show by luxury Italian design house MaxMara, as it brings its full Spring/Summer 2017 Collection from the catwalks of Milan to Belfast City Hall, on 10th March in support of leading learning disability charity Positive Futures.

Positive Futures provides support to people with a learning disability, acquired brain injury or autistic spectrum condition, and their carers. The CEO of the charity Agnes Lunny OBE, remarked; “We are delighted to benefit from such a prestigious international show by one of the most exclusive names in fashion. The money raised will make a real difference to the people we support”.

Nina Wallis, owner of MaxMara’s Belfast store commented, “The fashion of the show will be inspired by architect, designer and intellectual Lina Bo Bardi in a fusion of creative, radical, passion. Bo Bardi was a woman with a vision years ahead of her time, who embodied Latin America’s compelling take on modernism”. MaxMara borrows high performance jerseys and nylons from the sports arena for glamorous body con dresses, bodies and combinations with heat sealed construction. A structured mesh gives a hi-tech makeover to MaxMara’s own design icon, the 101801. Shiny new Lina sunglasses and Bardi-esque wooden soled techno-clogs complete the look. Make up for the show will be by Charlotte Tilbury, with hair by international session stylist Richard Phillipart for BaByliss.

Tickets for the show are priced at £35 per person or £75 for a VIP experience and these are available online from http://bit.ly/2mpeVpW

Director Cathy Martin commented on the season’s key trends: “This season there is a focus on fun with playful colours and bold statements being made everywhere. My favourites among all the trends include the palettes of pinks, yellows and blues, as well as gorgeous ginghams and loads of Beetlejuice-inspired stripes. For eveningwear, there are mesmerizing metallics and sassy sequins which will satisfy all the fashion magpies out there. A feminine feel continues from AW16 with a tap into texture, so there’ll be loads more of romantic ruffles and playful plumes first seen on the Gucci, Chloe and Celine catwalks internationally.”

She added: “We’re looking forward to having some of our regular designers and brands on the runways this season, but we’ve opened up the catwalks to the likes of ASOS, Zara, River Island, H&M and TOPSHOP via our stylist picks at the high street shows and at our wonderful new Style Saturday event. It’s an exciting season for us and I look forward to wowing the audiences with the collections we’ll have on show.”

Laura Blair, Brand Manager for West Coast Cooler, which sponsors the event, said: “At West Coast Cooler we love to celebrate individuality and style, especially with the launch of campaigns like our #WCCStyleSquad which integrate our audience with our brand activity – we love the fresh opportunities to engage with a fashion conscious customer. My Style – January 2017

As said by fashion guru Coco Chanel: “fashion changes, but style endures“. Each issue, we introduce you to sylish local people who enviably manage demanding work schedules while looking polished to perfection.

Pete Snodden – Cool FM Radio Host.

How has your style changed over the years?

I suppose I feel that I have moved with the times or perhaps I dress a little bit older but in s
aying that it just depends on the occasion.  I find myself in black tie an awful lot more nowadays and that is certainly because of work.

I still go for clothes that I feel are stylish and comfortable and suit me. I don’t fear clothes and I certainly don
’t dress to keep up with the Joneses. If I like it and I think it suits me then I will wear it.

What are your wardrobe staples for autumn/winter?

Shoes are very important to me, trainers a must, oxfords, brogues and chelsea boots are what I find myself wearing at the minute. Chambray shirts as they can be dressed up and down and even going into winter I will still wear t-shirts and layer up.  As for jackets, everything from leather, bomber and tweed make up my wardrobe at the minute and as for trousers, dark green and navy chinos and dark denim, particularly black.

Favourite designer or high street brand?

I have been buying ’Scotch and Soda’ clothing from Yoke in Belfast for many years now. The brand is from Amsterdam and has great design and quirky detailing.  I find that the brand including their jeans fits me well and my purchases are generally key pieces in my wardrobe.

Do you have any style icons?

David Beckham without the sarong, Tom Ford and Bradley Cooper. All these gentlemen wear clothes that suit them, are stylish and look pretty effortless.  Personally I am all about keeping it simple.

Tracy Gilligan – CEO at Therapie Clinic

How has your style changed over the years?

My style hasn’t really changed to be honest; I’ve always had my own style with my staples being simple, black and classic. I could pull something out of my wardrobe from ten years ago and still get away with it. Although there are probably a few things I would rather forget!

Do you have any go-to items for Autumn/Winter?

Autumn/Winter is my favourite time of the year as it’s where I am most comfortable with the black tights, boots and coats. My wardrobe staple is a good winter coat… I love Vivienne Westwood’s designs as they are fitted and give me a great shape. I usually would add a little leather or velvet to my wardrobe at this time of year to add some texture. Scarfs are great at adding a pop of colour, with my favourite being Alexander McQueen.

Favourite designer or high street brand?

My favourite UK designer is Kevan Jon, I just adore his designs as they are so classical and give you curves in all the right places. As for high street brands, you cannot go wrong with Zara, Topshop and River Island, where they have all the latest styles at affordable prices.

Do you have any style icons?

I love Angelina Jolie’s style as she is also a fellow lover of the colour black, and tends to wear classical designs. Victoria Beckham’s style today is also always on trend and her collections are very modern and stylish. Other than that my style is very much my own, I have got to the age where I know what suits me and although I like to keep an eye on trends, I don’t always follow suit.

Fashion Conscious

Fashion Conscious hosted a fantastic night of cocktails and clothes at RGB Park Inn in Belfast in aid of humanitarian charities Help Refugees and Project Hope 4 Kids.
