Making a change with National Tree Week

Date: 29 November 2009 |  Read Comments (0)
Children are being taught the value of trees while attending a 'Grow Your Own' planting event at Grove Playing Fields today (Wednesday, 25 November) with the Lord Mayor, Councillor Naomi Long.

To mark National Tree Week the children helped the Lord Mayor plant some new trees at Grove Playing Fields and will then receive a fruiting tree to plant in their school grounds.

They will also have the opportunity to see the possibilities trees offer us in terms of food, goods and fun in a series of workshops in the Bowling Pavilion.
