The latest intake of students on Belfast City's Council's popular HARTE (Hospitality and Retail Training for Employment) programme graduated last week.

The HARTE programme targets the long term unemployed in Belfast by providing job training opportunities in the hospitality and retail industries. Jointly funded by the council and the European Social Fund programme with support from the Department of Employment and Learning (DEL), it is delivered by Time Associates, Gems and Belfast Metropolitan College.

82 students were awarded certificates for completing the programme on Friday (27 November) at a special ceremony in the City Hall.

The second graduation ceremony of the HARTE programme to take place this year, previous HARTE graduates have gone on to secure work with employers across the city like Sainsbury's, Ramada Encore, Botanic Inns, the Rankin Group, Streat Cafe, Reid Furniture and the Belfast Health Trust.
