Tim McKane, a leading figure in the Northern Ireland advertising and marketing community, has opened a new agency, Navajo Talk, to deliver strategic planning, management services and creative input in the area of social media and on-line marketing.
"I wanted a change," said Tim. "I saw an opportunity to bring the experience in developing communications strategies and creating advertising to another area of the market that will complement the existing agencies. I had kept in touch with Jill Culbertson who went to London a number of years ago and has become a leader in search engine optimisation, e-commerce and on-line marketing, and we decided to start Navajo Talk"
"I divide my time between Holywood and London," said Jill, "We are already working with clients in London and Northern Ireland, providing them with a management service for their Facebook, Twitter and web site content. As far as I can see, our offering is currently unique, both here and in London."
"Most corporate web sites are essentially brochures that you look at on a computer screen," Tim expanded, "not using the available technology to its best advantage by keeping content fresh and delivering it through sound, animation and video as well as writing. New content is essential if you want people to come back to your site."
"Customers now expect to be able to have a dialogue with brands and service providers," said Jill, "and social networking enables those conversations to happen. It opens up whole new areas of interaction, research, response and reward. Research shows us how much impact good social media activity can have."
