Date: 04 March 2010 |  Read Comments (0)
Derry City Council St Patrick's Day Spring Carnival promises something for everyone, as details of the range of events running from Thursday March 11th to Thursday March 18th are launched. Highlights this year include concerts, dancing, celtic characters and storytelling and, of course, the magnificent Carnival Parade.
Welcoming the celebrations, the Mayor Cllr Paul Fleming said, "The diverse programme of events this year offers something for people of all ages. Once again the city will be the place to be for a fun filled family celebration. With events organised across the week, the celebrations will extend beyond St Patrick's Day itself and there is plenty to keep young and young at heart occupied this year".

Victoria Market Car Park will be the location of the main stage this year and is a designated Alcohol Free Zone. Families can enjoy entertainment from 1.00 pm to 4.30 pm as legendary Irish and Country recording star Susan McCann takes to the stage with her band. The day will also see performances by Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann Traditional Irish Group and Harmonicity, a sixteen piece multicultural musical group. There will be Irish Dancing displays by local Irish dancing schools.
