This traditional house is located in the idyllic countryside surroundings of the Co. Down area with space and privacy for the perfect family home. Monteith Interiors were appointed to transform the interior space with the criteria of creating a spacious and relaxing space. This was achieved in open plan kitchen and sun room. With the use of ivory porcelain tiles it made the space flow easily as well as brightening up the whole room.

The kitchen was hand-painted in ivory with an oak island which became the focal point of the room. The emperador marble worktops added a stamp of quality and opulence to the kitchen. The curtains were custom made with designer fabric in an eye catching green and this continued through to the sun room where again all the cushions and lighting were supplied by Monteith’s. A riva cassette fireplace added both function and a design aesthetic to the room.

The hallway boasts a stunning solid oak staircase with an overlooking balcony which really emphasises the open plan space. The hallway was complemented by bespoke raspberry and cream curtains – attention to detail without being overpowering as you enter the house.

In addition to the sun room there is a formal living area that oozes glamour with a walnut floor and dazzling Brian Yates Mica wallpaper, JAB and Harlequin curtains and furniture that was sourced by Monteith Interiors. The fireplace, also designed by Monteith Interiors, features a cream travertine with star galaxy granite inset.

The bathroom was designed to have a spa effect to create the ultimate relaxation space. To help create this, remote controlled dim lighting was installed. A natural sand coloured porcelain tile was used as well as mosaic tiles inset into the recesses – again adding attention to detail. The bathroom furnishings and fittings were by Jacuzzi; only the best quality products were used.

The bedroom again featured a polished walnut floor and luxurious curtains by Designers Guild. The bedroom aimed to be minimal but glamorous and this was achieved by the colour scheme and the timeless furnishings and accessories.

This home represents family living incorporated with elegant designs. Donna from Monteith Interiors went so far as to manufacture and stitch cushions and handcraft accessories, highlighting the hard work and thought that went into this project. Each criteria was carefully planned and thought out and the end result was exactly what the client wanted – an open family space with attention to detail.
